The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has extended its contract with CBTRUS for September 30, 2020-September 29, 2021. This contract recognizes CBTRUS as the sole source of US yearly histology-specific reports on all primary brain and other central nervous system (CNS) tumors irrespective of their behavior, whether benign, uncertain, or malignant. The contract aims to enhance the reporting of data on brain tumors by “supporting production and publication of CBTRUS’ annual Statistical Report (link), by conducting and publishing special reports on primary brain and CNS tumors, and by serving as the primary brain and CNS tumor subject matter experts for technical assistance to CDC’s National Program of Cancer Registries.”
“We’re delighted to have the continued support of the CDC. This contract validates our contribution to brain tumor epidemiology. Having such a prestigious sponsor helps us secure the additional funding necessary to support the CBTRUS mission,” said CBTRUS President Carol Kruchko.
